The missions of the Centre

The Centre Social du Béguinage(CSB) is a social centre for language training for adults. Located in the centre of Brussels, not far from Chinatown and the Petit Château, the CSB organizes French modules during the day and evening from September to June for people from immigrant backgrounds.

For almost forty years, we have pursued three essential missions.

Learning the French language

We organize French modules for people who are educated or not: modules in literacy, in French as a foreign language (FLE) and, since 2016, specific modules for newcomers.

Our different courses

Social assistance

Our social worker offers individual interviews to participants enrolled in French modules and can assist them with certain administrative procedures. Civic engagement activities are also available.
They are organized. Among other things, they provide important information on the functioning of Brussels social organizations.

Intercultural meetings and exchanges

Friendliness, sharing, and discovering cultural differences are very strong values at CSB. They are reflected in cultural outings, sharing meals from different countries, and the friendly celebrations we organize with our participants and trainers.
