French Language Courses and Social & (Inter)cultural Connections in Brussels

We are a French language learning center for adults. We offer French literacy (Alpha) and French as a Foreign Language (FLE) courses during the day and evening. We also provide FLE courses as part of the program for newcomers.

Our social worker supports anyone participating in our courses or living in the neighborhood who needs individualized assistance with social or administrative procedures.

The End-of-Year Celebration

On 18 June, we celebrated the end of the 2025–2026 school year. It was a chance to get together after a year full of learning, discoveries, new encounters and visits.

The Woluwe 15km Run

On 17 May, a team comprising FLE and Alpha course participants and trainers took part in the 11km walk as part of the 15km de Woluwé event.

Learn French

We offer language training programs that enable our beneficiaries to acquire basic French skills or improve their level.

These include:

  • Literacy modules for adults with little or no schooling in their country of origin.
  • French as a Foreign Language modules for adults.
  • French as a Foreign Language modules for newly arrived immigrants undergoing their integration process.

A vibrant community life that fosters connections.

Classroom activities, group walks, meetings with retirees, museum visits, outings to explore the neighborhood and the center of Brussels, various cultural excursions, sewing or computer workshops…

Through all these activities, we strive to strengthen the bonds between our students and their community.

Social support for our students

Our social services are available to anyone needing individualized support. Our social worker offers consultations and connects students with support organizations in Brussels. Her role also includes strengthening social connections through informal interactions. In collaboration with the team, she seeks alternative solutions for students experiencing difficulties.

When do classes start?

Our classes generally begin around September 15th.

Courses for newcomers begin throughout the year, depending on the modules and levels.

Who can take courses at CSB?

Anyone 18 years of age or older can register for our courses, regardless of their immigration status.

For courses for newcomers, participants must first register at the Newcomer Reception Offices (BAPA).

Do I need to take a placement test?

Yes, you will need to take a short placement test to determine your level and be placed in the correct group.

How much does it cost to register for a course?

The full year costs €65.

For the BAPA course, the training is free.

What administrative documents do I need to bring when registering?

No administrative documents are required. However, you can present your identity document (foreign or Belgian).
