French as a Foreign LanguageOur FLE courses are designed for adults and allow those interested in learning French to participate in training programs and activities aimed at mastering the language.
After taking an oral and written French placement test, participants are placed in one of several levels. The courses are divided into four levels, ranging from complete beginner to advanced user.
We primarily offer daytime classes, but there is also one evening class.

Our French as a Foreign Language courses are designed for people who want to learn French or improve their proficiency in the language.
Levels
We offer different levels:
- beginners (A1)
- intermediate (A2)
- intermediate (A2.1)
- advanced (A2+)
Objectives
To provide the necessary tools to express oneself and understand both spoken and written French, and thus to get by in daily life in Brussels.
Registration
- First session: early July
- Second session: late August

FLE courses are held over several days, with the schedule varying by level.

Frequently Asked Questions
When do classes start?
Our classes generally begin around September 15th.
Courses for newcomers begin throughout the year, depending on the modules and levels.
Who can take courses at CSB?
Anyone 18 years of age or older can register for our courses, regardless of their immigration status.
For courses for newcomers, participants must first register at the Newcomer Reception Offices (BAPA).
Do I need to take a placement test?
Yes, you will need to take a short placement test to determine your level and be placed in the correct group.
How much does it cost to register for a course?
The full year costs €65.
For the BAPA course, the training is free.
What administrative documents do I need to bring when registering?
No administrative documents are required. However, you can present your identity document (foreign or Belgian).
